They’re back!! For the third year in a row, the creators of the award-winning international physical comedy sensation Falling Awake, & Hotel Vortruba, RAGMOP Theatre are back on the Capitol stage with their new show: A Can of Worms.

Internationally acclaimed RAGMOP Theatre presents this exquisite, wordless physical comedy that is all at once laugh-out-loud hilarious, touching, and hauntingly surreal. A Can of Worms is a meditation on animal instinct and the search for human connection. With aerial hair hang, fine dining, false faces, questionable hors d’œuvres, operatic interludes, and a side of cannibalism, A Can of Worms maps evolution from invertebrates to flight to uncover the cure for loneliness.

RAGMOP Theatre is a collaboration between Canadian clown and movement artist Nayana Fielkov, and U.S.A. circus artist Matthew “Poki” McCorkle. Using the mediums of clown, magic, mime, mask, puppetry, illusions, shadow projections, dance, live song, and circus arts, RAGMOP creates and performs original, compelling, thought provoking, surrealist physical comedy.

In 2016 they won the Canadian Fringe festival touring lottery and thus toured to 7 Fringe festivals receiving the acclaim of:

Best of Fest, Artist Pick, and Holdovers (Edmonton Fringe)
Best Ensemble, Critics’ Pick (Toronto Fringe)
Joanna Maratta Award
Mollie Bradley Award (Vancouver Fringe)
…and nominated for many more.

They sold out the entire run in Edmonton and returned the following year to play the festival’s largest venue to sold out houses again. Following their Fringe success, they have been presented at theatres and festivals throughout B.C. including Capitol Theatre in Nelson, ArtSpring on Salt Spring Island, Fringe Presents Vancouver, and The Living Things Festival in Kelowna.

“The two tap into a seemingly endless array of dexterous theatrical abilities (including clown, magic, mime, mask, puppetry, illusion, dance and various other circus arts) to mount a show that is a marvel to behold, a continuing treat and a boisterous display of exotic, theatrical talent.” – FIVE STARS – Gig City

“An extraordinary blend of mime and magic” – FIVE STARS – Global News

“It’s the perfect mix of magic, physical comedy and charm.” – Edmonton Journal

“Breathtaking physical actors” – Theatre in London
