The lives of young Mohawk Kateri and her brother Jean-Baptiste are disrupted by the arrival of the king’s daughters, young French women sent to the new colony to marry and have children. They forge an unlikely relationship with young Marie-Jean Lespérance, whose dream of a new life is more complicated than she could have imagined.
